Amerisource Bergen Consulting Services (ABCS) used gmStudio in-house to upgrade a set of very large VB6/COM applications to C#. Great Migrations helped the ABCS team learn gmStudio by example, delivering a Smart Start solution for the first application in the set. ABCS went on to upgrade several additional applications using various advanced upgrade features such as COM replacement and refactoring.

In ten months, 9.8 million lines of VB6 code were converted to .NET, verified, and deployed to production. This would not have been possible without the assistance of a conversion tool. Several tools available were evaluated. Great Migrations was selected because of its flexibility to adapt the conversion tool to our specific requirements. Without assistance from Great Migrations our project would not have been possible. The custom conversion scripting and technical support provided went a long way in reducing the number of hours and issues encounters.
